This restless desire caused the prodigal son to leave his place of security and wander outside the protection of his father. This insight has real implications and applications for Christians today.

As T.D. Jakes says, “The Devil knows we’re blessed. To mess us up, he’s got to get us out of the place of blessing.” When we dwell in God’s will, when He is with us and we are with Him, “nothing formed against us shall stand.”

However, when we follow a spirit of restlessness and do what we want when we want, regardless of God’s will and purpose, we become susceptible to being cursed rather than being blessed.
