In this ALT (assistant language teacher) video about teaching in Japan, I talk about my experience as an ALT where a prominent ALT company that I used to work for, lost their contract to a competitor with the town where I was placed, leaving me to finish only 4 months in, and due to the premature ending of my contract, I was left in a lurch where I was unsure if I would be reassigned, become homeless in Japan, or pack my bags and go back to America.

It's not just me. ALT companies like Jet and Interac gain and lose contracts all the time and I have known others who have been victims and ripped out of their placements before it was time.
