A common confusion and question we get are the differences in fitting styles. This video talks about the difference in NPT, Oring (ORB), AN, and Face seal style fittings.

Each fitting is different, unique, and has a different sealing style and needs to be treated differently.

A short recap:

NPT Fittings: Use Pipe tape or Liquid Pipe Tape
ORB (Oring): Do not use pipe tape or pipe sealer (seals off the oring)
AN: NO tape or sealer needed on the AN portion of the fitting, it seals off of metal to metal interference.
Face Seal: Uses a Soft aluminum or copper washer to seal the fitting to the piece it is screwing into.
