This talk is about the role of social sustainability in serving and supporting environmental sustainability and global problem solving. I use my personal journey as a template, from spiritual seeking to quantum physics to evolution, for understanding what it takes to get along with others. The very human aspects of connection, compassion and the transformative, healing power of empathy are highlighted. It is clear that we are in this together; one planet, one people. There is a language which acknowledges our fundamental connectedness and underlying similarities, and which can serve as the grease that is necessary to the Global Shift in progress. The way we relate to one another, how we communicate, how we know ourselves in relationship, all play a vital role in creating and supporting all the endeavors necessary to come through this time of great transition.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, selforganized events that bring people together to share a TEDlike experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, selforganized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are selforganized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
