I couldn't believe what I saw leading. Southern Pacific unit 6379 leading a Los Angeles Bound Manifest train / mixed freight train. Southern Pacific got bought out back in 1996 by Union Pacific. There are not many Southern Pacific Units left and still actively pulling trains so that might have been the catch of the year for railfanning. Southern Pacific was founded by the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad back in 1859 and was a company till 1996. Southern Pacific continues to roll the rails in 2024. Boy that was a sight too see SP Leader.
