The Telephone Interpreting Program (TIP) provides federal courts remote interpretation services from qualified interpreters who are not available locally. In court proceedings, the interpreters are connected through a twoline phone and the courtroom's audio system so the interpretation can be heard by all parties. TIP ensures justice for nonEnglish speaking individuals and saves the court money in travel and contract costs.
