A biographicalreligious series which, with great historical rigour, follows the life of Teresa of Jesus. A descendant of Jewish converts and a Carmelite nun, in the heart of Castile, she undertook a movement for the liberation of the spirit, leaving in her writings one of the most exciting testimonies of that time, when, amidst enormous tensions, the foundations of European modernity were being laid. The series begins with Teresa's life at the age of 23, outlining the family and social context in which she lived. Throughout these chapters we follow the adventure of this woman who mingles with the people and frequents the nobility and who, in the midst of the most overflowing activity, experiences the most sublime mystical experiences. The woman who had been prosecuted by the Inquisition ends up becoming the first doctor of the Church. Set in the 16th century, it was filmed in natural settings and decorated in Spanish cities in Castile, Andalusia and Extremadura.
