Terrell Patterson, a 28 yearold wheelchair user who lives an hour southwest of New Orleans was impacted by Hurricane Ida. The category 4 hurricane severely damaged his home making it uninhabitable and needing major repairs. Terrell and his family struggled to find accessible housing as they tried to piece their lives back together and return to their home. Thanks to a disaster relief grant offered by United Spinal and the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation, Terrell’s home was fully renovated, giving him an opportunity to regain his independence and quality of life.
