I've been using a factory transom mounting bracket for the transducer on my Garmin 7" echomap on my Scout Inflatables boat. It works only up to 6 mph or so. Above that speed, the turbulence coming off the back edge of the transom is too great for the transducer to work. In this video, I test two alternative ideas: strapping the transducer to one of the pontoons, and submerging it below the turbulence zone. The result is the opposite of what I expected, which is why we test ideas, no?
