The 10 Best Luxury EV SUVs In 2024!

Luxurious and lightningfast, Electric SUVs are gradually claiming their top spot in the Luxury SUV market. Here are our top 10 picks for 2024.

BMW iX

The 2024 BMW iX is one of the best luxury EV SUVs on the market right now. It’s about the same size as a BMW X5, with a great roomy interior and some pretty mind blowing power and range, even in its base trim.

The base iX xDrive50, comes with an EPAestimated 324mile range. The batteries have an 8year or 100,000mile warranty, and they are expected to lose about 12% of their range every year. That means that in 8 years of ownership, your iX would still have a range of approximately 261 miles. Not bad!

Wait until you hear about the power output! The xDrive50 version comes with two electric motors, allwheel drive and a power output of 516 horsepower. That’s enough to propel the twoandahalfton mammoth from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.4 seconds.

There’s an even more powerful version, the 610hp rocketship called M60, which can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.

The exterior design is quite unique. You might love it, or you might hate it. There really isn’t a middle ground here. However, the interior is something else. To call it modern just doesn’t do it justice. It looks so much ahead of its time. The cool blend of materials and finishes makes it all come together so nicely. It almost puts the Tesla Model X’s interior to shame.

Needless to say, the iX has some of the most comfortable upholstered seats on the market, and to top that off, they also have a very cool design. Actually, the overall interior design has a certain wowfactor that might convince you to buy this car from the very moment you set foot inside. There is plenty of headroom, legroom and shoulder room; visibility is remarkable. The infotainment system is easy to use, and the curved display is splendid. Users can easily pair their phones to the car and get turnbyturn navigation directions in the driver’s gauge cluster.

Moreover, the iX rides quite nicely on the road, almost cloudlike, if it weren’t for the 22inch optional wheels, which might provide a bit of firmness. The cabin is remarkably wellinsulated against any road noise, exactly what you’d expect from a luxury SUV.

In terms of price, it’s not really what you might call “affordable”, but neither one on this list is. We’re talking luxury EV SUVs here and the $88k starting price of this BMW speaks that language. However, even in its entrylevel trim, you get quite a lot of nice things, such as 20inch wheels, DC fastcharging capability, fourzone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, poweradjustable heated front seats and heated steering wheel, a gorgeous curved display housing 12.3inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless phone charging and a 12speaker audio system.

In terms of driver aids, the iX comes as standard with forward collision warning with automatic braking, blindspot warning, lane departure warning and parking sensors.

Out of the optional features, there’s a great Bowers & Wilkins premium audio system that you could get, a 360degree camera system and massaging front seats that can make your ride even sweeter. The Highway Assistant feature is also a great piece of BMW tech, that allows handsoff driving on the highway.

Audi SQ8 Etron

The 2024 Audi SQ8 Etron turns up the heat on Audi’s EV lineup, with its 496hp, threemotor beast of a powertrain. While sharing the same DNA with the more comfortfocused Q8 Etron, the SQ8 brings more highoctane excitement to the table, not only with its high performance, but also with its sleeker Sportback configuration.

The heart of this electric beast is a 106kWh battery pack, which promises a respectable 250mile range that should meet the needs of most EV enthusiasts. You can charge it at 170 kW DC fastcharging stations.

Because two of the three electric motors are placed on the rear axle, the SQ8 Etron can mimic a torquevectoring differential, and you should get the feeling that more power is sent to the outside rear wheel, making the car feel very athletic and fun. Although the ride won’t be as comfortable as on the normal Q8 model, it will all pay off on a twisty road. You’ll also have a lot of fun on the straight line, with the SQ8 Etron accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.5 seconds.

The entrylevel model will cost about $91k, and it could go as high as $100k depending on the configurations you want.
