We test the 1U version of the fanless Everything homelab node to find a $300 8core system with 4x 10G ports, 5x 2.5GbE ports, and SATA JBOD expansion. This makes a great pfSense, OPNsense, Proxmox VE, Debian, Linux, TrueNAS, Ubuntu, or other box. One can even customize it with ECC memory and multiple drives. With an 8core Intel Atom C3758R it can even handle a few virtual machines and containers for a VM or Docker host.
