Chiapas has a volcanic present and past, which favors the birth of hot springs such as the Agua Caliente waterfalls of the Tacaná Volcano. When swimming in its pools, you can feel temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius.
The network of rivers around Tacaná creates eight thermal springs, and many cold ones, some of which sprout more than 3 thousand meters high in the volcanic cone, and flow into the Pacific Ocean.
This is one of the most unknown places in the extreme south of our Mexico, the Agua Caliente waterfall is located in the municipality of Cacahoatán, within Soconusco, a few kilometers from the border with Guatemala.
To get to the Aguacaliente waterfalls, it is necessary to enter the Sierra Madre de Chiapas, a mountain range that runs through the entire state and part of Central America. We cross rivers, which contribute to the greenness of the mountains. On our side the ravines form beautiful canyons.
