The American Wake Experiment (AWAKEN) is an international multiinstitutional field campaign funded by the US Department of Energy focused on observation of wind farm atmosphere interactions that have a significant impact on wind farm performance and turbine reliability. In this presentation I will describe the setup of the field experiment, highlight some of the recent observations that are of interest to wind energy and atmospheric communities, and describe future work for the experiment that will continue into 2025.
