For centuries the Sierra Norte de Puebla remained practically isolated, protected by its original inhabitants who safeguard its pristine landscapes and Mesoamerican culture.
The ancestral paths of Cuetzalan led us from the magical town through fertile gardens, passing through the hundredyearold pyramidal bases of Yohualichan, to one of the least known locations in the entire town: Santiago Yancuitlalpan, where not every visitor can arrive without the experience of Julio Diego, our local guide and proud Nahua speaker, with whom we interpret these biocultural trails.
