After I was released from quarantine, I quickly headed out to explore Terceira's top attraction: the UNESCO World Heritage City of Angra do Heroismo. The city, founded in 1478 (before Columbus' voyage!), boasts a myriad of historic colonial ruins, creamcoloured churches, mosaic cobblestone streets, and crumbling, charming alleyways.

From Angra, I headed to the Lajes International Airport to catch my afternoon flight to Ponta Delgada, the capital of the Azores (just a short 45 minute flight from Terceira).
