The B17 flying fortress had a Mysterious but Fatal design flaw from the first day they entered service. A flaw that would cause a number of B17s to spontaneously combust midair and their crews to perish. Nobody understood why it happened, as there were usually no knowledgeable survivors from this type of accident…Until this day when the mystery was finally solved.
