Zona Velha in Funchal Madeira Portugal is a great place to stay if you don’t want to rent a car in Madeira. I’ll show you a little bit of 2 days(out of 8 days in Funchal) in this video. We eat Lunch and Dinner in Zona Velha and walk around the area and just beyond to show you a little bit of busy downtown just steps form Zona Velha (Old Zone/Area). I’ll show you the area around Hotel Porto Santa Maria, Rua de Santa Maria and Rua Portão de São Tiago. Forte de São Tiago is in this area and only steps from our rental house. You will see a house tour of our rental house reserved through www.booking.com. The host was very nice, the house was very accommodating for a family of 4 adults. The absolute best thing about the house was its location especially because we wanted fun and we didn’t want to rent a car. There are lot’s of taxi’s and tour companies that can take you around to the rest of the island if you would like to see more of the island and the cost is better than renting a car.
