me & lauren love a good hike so we wanted something that was going to be a little challenging but still enjoyable with great scenic views, and the hike we ended up doing was perfect! it’s called the Big Baldy Ridge Trail and it was a 6.4 mile out & back hike with a steady elevation gain. the payoff is immediate because you are hiking along the ridge almost the whole time and get an amazing view of the trees and forests below.

the only issue was that the trail had been washed out by some rain and also the recent fire burned a lot of the trees :( thankfully we had the trail map downloaded on the AllTrails app to keep us on the right track or else we would’ve definitely gotten lost LOL.

the hike took about 3 hours, then we continued on to the Grant Grove Village to get some food then to the General Grant Tree. It was a very easy little loop trail with lots of beautiful sequoia trees.

we ended our day with dinner at the local Mexican restaurant in Three Rivers, then went to the bar and ended up line dancing & even performing with the band hahaha. we met & talked to lots of locals and it was a great experience, we highly recommend staying in Three Rivers!!

**for lodging, we stayed in an airbnb in the town of Three Rivers, CA which is 10 minutes from the park entrance and about 45 minutes from the Giant Forest.
