Think outside the box and turn the tables on your squatter forcing them to take you to civil court to get back in your house. They may be due civil process but make them file.
Be cautious if you are acting in your own and understand your risk for example in some states you can face fines and penalties locking a tenant out. You have less rights as a landlord or homeowner.
