How does the BGGAT work?

Female tiger mosquitoes that have already bitten and now want to lay their eggs, are attracted by hay infused water and oviposition cues of the trap.

They enter the transparent chamber through the funnel. The net provides a barrier between mosquitoes and the water and prevents the mosquitoes from laying their eggs. Once inside the chamber, mosquitoes try to escape through the translucent parts where they are exposed to the surface of the sticky card and die.

In this way, the trap prevents with each captured female about 50 – 100 descendants.

So, where should the trap be placed?
