The Supreme Court on 14 January agreed to hear the PIL of BJP leader & advocate Ashwini Upadhyay, challenging Article 370 and separate Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir. The Apex Court tagged it with another pending matter and will hear all matters on Tuesday 2nd April. Article 370 of the Indian constitution is an article that gives autonomous status to the state. The article is drafted in Part XXI of the Constitution: Temporary, Transitional and Special Provisions, the state of Jammu & Kashmir has been accorded special status under Article 370. All the provisions of the Constitution which are applicable to other states are not applicable to J&K.
