This lecture explains about the bohr effect of hemoglobin and how bohr effect is maintained that causes the shift of hemoglobin saturation curve to the right side of the graph. Bohr effect states that the hemoglobin affinity towards oxygen decreases at acidic pH thus helping it to release oxygen in the body tissue. While at basic pH near lungs cell, hemoglobin binds with the oxygen with greater affinity. Bohr effect explains why hemoglobin is the perfect protein in carrying oxygen in blood.
