The Freedom Ride of 1965 was a significant event in the history of civil rights for all Australians. Inspired by the Freedom Riders of the American Civil Rights Movement, students from the University of Sydney, led by the legendary Charles Perkins, embarked on a journey through western New South Wales to expose racism and segregation. 50 years on, the bus has headed west again... to honour the legacy of the Freedom Rides.
