Late U.S. Rep. John Dingell of Michigan discusses the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, and events leading up to the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Dingell reflected, "The March was a remarkable accomplishment; it created a climate where organized citizens came to the conclusion that this was something we had to do, and that citizens were entitled to the right to vote and they were entitled to all the rights of citizenship."
