The Cleanest 1959 Fender Stratocaster! From its original owner

I flew into Fort Lauderdale, Florida and drove out to meet the original owner of this 1959 Fender Stratocaster. His dad purchased the guitar for him from Bellmore Music Studio on October 22nd, 1959. It seems that he mostly played his Guild archtop guitars because this vintage Stratocaster still looks almost brand new! He never changed any parts or modified it in any way. It's almost exactly as it was when new. I'm blown away that he held on to all the original hang tags, receipt, polish cloth, strap, bridge cover, and tremolo arm! There are so few vintage guitars and especially vintage Stratocasters that remain in this kind of condition. It's spectacular.

One thing that seems to happen on preCBS Fender guitars (and especially Stratocasters) is that some of the pickups left the factory with a flaw. The middle pickup on this guitar was reading about 160,000 ohms when I showed up to buy it. It should read between 5,000 and 7,000 ohms, so I knew that it was not working properly even thought it made sound through an amplifier. I sent the entire guitar to my friend Tom (https://tombrantleyrewinds.com/) and asked him to repair the coil from the finish side first. We got lucky! Tom was able to repair the original coil without removing the leads or disturbing the solder anywhere except the finish side of the coil.
