A proper rare treat to see this wild snake on the dunes of Holywell Bay, Cornwall, UK.
After studying many pictures online, we can only presume this to be a 'Black' Adder of the British Isles. For many years I have frequented these dunes and never have I seen this. I carried that awe for many days after, scanning the grass for that diamond back. No joy :(
