Also known as the Graham Escapement, the deadbeat is a variant of the anchor escapement that eliminates the recoil action, increasing energy transfer efficiency from the driving wheel to the pendulum. It's the timeregulating component of a mechanical clock, and this model will hopefully be developed into a fully functional timepiece with a practical runtime.
