The Death of the Print Age

The IBM Infoprint 2710 was built in the year 2000 by Heidelberg in Germany. 2000 machines were delivered worldwide, with about 800 residing in the United States. They were designed to print at high capacity 24 hours a day, and there were as many attachments available as could fill this room.

This particular machine was used for printing large amounts of data and reports a total of 36 million sheets in its lifetime. In recent weeks, the print output has been shifted to a digital format, delivered to the recipients by email. As the physical delivery and data and reports has ceased, this machine has finally outlived its usefulness.

This printer was the secondtolast remaining IBM Infoprint 2710 in the state of Oklahoma. On this day, the technician prepares it to be shipped away and stripped for parts.
