the difference between LFO and envelope ADSR (how does a synthesizer work?)

Follow
Dexxter Clark Music

This tutorial is about the basics of a synthesizer, zoomed in on LFOs and envelopes.
The most famous envelope is the ADSR envelope.
ADSR stands for Attack Decay Sustain Release.
LFO stands for Low Frequency Oscilators.

Both are modulators for your synthesizer and triggered when you press a key (or a midi note is played).
The envelope is triggered just once, the LFO continues to operate once it's done.
