The Dix Range | Adirondack 46er

On June 25th, I made another trip to the Adirondacks, this time to take on the Dix Range! Finishing this range put me at 14/46! As for the stats on this trip, on Strava, I recorded 15.35 miles with 5,410' of elevation gain and it took me 9 hours and 20 minutes! This was an absolute epic hike, the views up on the range were incredible! They could have been much better if it were not for a rainy forecast, but they certainly didn't disappoint. I did this route CCW, heading up the Macomb Slide first (the steepest trail in the Adirondacks), and let me tell you, it is absolutely fantastic climbing it! The only part of this hike that I found intimidating was how Dix looked from a distance, getting the first glimpse of it atop Macomb had me thinking to myself, "Man, that looks insane to climb". However, climbing Hough was more challenging I felt, once you are past Hough it felt relatively easy. There was one notable sketchy section to climb up the back side of the BeckHorn, though it was a very short section. Unfortunately, the summit of Dix was completely socked in by clouds once I got there, so I missed out on the incredible views I've seen others post while on top, especially of the Great Range!
