The Roar of The Leones

In the heart of Mexico City, where the music never dies,
A family band named Leones, with passion in their eyes.
Three generations past, their story takes its start,
A journey filled with courage, and music from the heart.

Gramps once traveled northward, to Chicago he did roam,
But a bully’s dark intentions, forced him to return home.
One fateful night in a cantina, with hatred in the air,
Gramps defended honor, but was chased by unjust scare.

Back to Mexico he went, with a plan so grand and true,
To teach his kin the rhythms, that in his soul he knew.
His son Leon, the drummer, in the seventies took the stage,
In Mexico’s greatest rock band, he set the beats of rage.

Leon passed his wisdom on, to each child under his wing,
First drums, then other instruments, together they would sing.
Rody on the drums, Jair with lead guitar so fine,
And Leo on the bass, the rhythm of their line.

For thirtyseven years now, their music’s been their life,
Through every chord and melody, they’ve conquered every strife.
They played with Deep Purple, their skills they did display,
And Kiss crowned them champions, in a contest bright as day.

In Cabo San Lucas, six nights a week they play,
The Leones keep on roaring, in their own unique way.
Today we honor Leo, whose talent shines so bright,
A birthday filled with music, and joy throughout the night.

So here’s to The Leones, a family strong and true,
With hearts that beat in rhythm, and dreams they did pursue.
May their legacy of music, forever loudly roar,
In the hearts of all who listen, and in the tales of yore.

Happy birthday to Leo, and may the music of The Leones continue to inspire and bring joy to all!
