The Empire of the Incas

PROYECTO PANACA

Explanation of the succession of rulers of the Inca empire, based on the books "Historical summary of the origin and succession of the Incas or sovereigns of Peru" by D. Jorge Juan and D. Antonio Ulloa, and "Historia del Tahuantinsuyu" by Maria Rostworowski.
Not having a general consensus regarding the number of rulers of the Tahuantinsuyo, we have considered in this video the positions of the aforementioned authors, who consider Huascar Inca as the last ruler of the Empire, and Atahualpa as usurper of it, since it never became invested with mascaypacha, an indispensable requirement to be historically recognized as Inca.
The main images of the Inca rulers have been taken from the painting "The fourteen Incas" by an anonymous author, from the 18th century, which is currently in the Brooklyn museum
