The 2010s saw unprecedented leaps in the fidelity of handheld systems like the 3DS and Vita. Handheld entries of games could now resemble their console counterparts much more as a result. With games like Super Monkey Ball Jr and Super Monkey Ball Touch & Roll being impressive handheld conversions, entries on these new systems could be pushed even closer to the fidelity of the Gamecube games. But with the standard set by the Wii for the modern series, will that potential be taken advantage of, or do Super Monkey Ball 3D and Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz jump the shark?
