The Cessna 172 has been a staple of general for aviation over the last half a century and it looks like it is not going anywhere anytime soon. The first went on sale in 1956, and today in 2022 new models are still being produced. (albeit there was a tenyear stop in production during the late 80s and 90s).
In this time over 45,000 have been produced making it the most produced aircraft in history. If you are a pilot or ever flown in a light aircraft, there is a very good chance you have flown in a Cessna 172. In this video we explore the history of the Cessna 172.
