This episode covers the fall of the Knights Templar in after their arrest in 1307 by the King Philip IV of France. After the fall of Acre in 1291 the Knights Templar had no purpose barring retaking the Holy Land which they didn't. Since he owed them money and didn't want them interfering in his affairs, Philip decided to strike and arrested much of the order. They were accused of heresy and after a longwinded and cruel investigation the Order was dissolved in 1312.
