As a formerly avid reader of Marvel Comics with some of my favorite titles being New Avengers, Amazing SpiderMan, Ultimate SpiderMan before Bendis killed Peter, and the massive events like Civil War and World War Hulk and Siege to a slightly lesser extent, I was always down for the introduction of new characters or a resurgence of old characters like how Bendis revived The Hood. Unfortunately, the route they took to introduce new characters was the least creative or innovative approach they could have taken. Some would even call it extremely lazy.
Let's discuss how we can create better heroes to serve audiences looking for new minority characters. I say "we" because I'm taking matters into my own hands as an Indie creator and not waiting anymore for Marvel or DC Comics to wake up.
