We went into Speed Shop to find out about one of the fastest Golf 1's in South Africa but ended up learning more about business, life and the value of humility.

During Kas Moodley's drag event at Mkuze Airfield last weekend, Nabil Bassa managed to reach a top speed of 308km/h on the 800m pass and a time of 9.9 seconds @250 km/h over the quarter mile.

It is a feat that Ahmed, his brother Azad, Nabil and all of the staff who work at SpeedShop have been working towards for years. Countless hours, trial and error.

Only the Lord and the Bassa's know how much money went into this build, the rest of us can just speculate.
