On Saturday, 6/22/2024, we would witness history as the MBTA Geometry Train would traverse the Needham, Franklin and Stoughton branch lines with quite the consist. Visually, the former CT Rail wrapped MBBs look the most notable but the cabcar, CTC1B 1647 is the final single level cabcar operating on MBTA. This would be its final run ever as after the Geometry train is done touring the system, 1647 will be retired as MBTA works to build up a strictly Bilevel rolling stock fleet for their commuter rail.

In this video, we’ll shoot it in Needham Center, Norwood Depot and then a friend of mine caught it at Canton Junction and was gracious enough to share his video with me. Definitely a great sight to see and another chapter closing and opening for the MBTA as they continue to improve their service for the great city of Boston.
