We've made it through the first primates, the first anthropoids, and the first apes, which means we have finally arrived at the emergence of hominins. This is a group of apes that emerged at the end of the Miocene 7 million years ago, as our lineage split off from that of the panins, like modern chimpanzees and bonobos.
