10 October 2024: MI2N 3505 and 3519 run their first services on RER A after undergoing a complete refurbishment. The MI2N, also known as Altéo, were put into service on RER A between 1997 and 2005.

The current fleet comprises 43 units, each with 5 cars. RATP and ÎledeFrance Mobilités have awarded this renovation contract to the manufacturer CAF at the BagnèresdeBigorre site. The refurbishment of this series includes fittings and safety features identical to those on the MI09, as well as a few technical modifications to the trainset to extend its operating life. The layout is virtually identical to the MI09s that have been in service on RER A since 2011, providing a uniform passenger experience on Europe's busiest line. The livery marks a real break with that used on MI09s, and the IDFM charter is now being applied.

Between now and the end of the year, two other MI2N R units will be added to the fleet, with all 43 trainsets scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.
