This model train video has been a long time coming! It's been years since we took the first steps towards having a new home built for us so that we could move out of California and up to Washington state. Finally, our dream has become a reality... and in this video you'll not only have fun seeing my Gscale model trains running, but you'll also get a look around at parts of our new house. A few important parts such as my wife's craft room are not shown in this video... so I'll just have to save that for a future video.

The trains featured most prominently in this video are the Santa Fe Super Chief, the Coca Cola train, and an Amtrak passenger train. Also featured are Thomas The Tank Engine, Emily (from Thomas & Friends), the Valvoline train,
a Santa Fe freight train, and a few brief appearances from Toby of Thomas & Friends.

These are all Gscale trains, which is the largest of the popular sizes of model trains in widespread use these days. Most of these trains were purchased from www.trainworld.com This is not a train set... this is a collection of individual model trains... and some of these items (like the Coca Cola train) are not even produced any longer.

Gscale trains are extremely expensive and not within the budget of most families today. What you're seeing in this video would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $10,000 to try to replicate. The track alone sells for $7 per foot. An average price for a single Gscale locomotive is about $600, and that's just the locomotive by itself, without any of the other pieces you need for it. It's not unusual for one single Gscale rail car to sell for $200. I simply mention this so that parents can explain to their kids that what they see in this video is not something that an average family can afford to own. It's best just to enjoy seeing the trains in a video like this.
