The first step to learning any skill is to first familiarise yourself with what needs to be done! Isometrics are a great entry point to getting control and comfort at varying ranges. However these first step exercises are not meant to be done for a long period. Once you get the hang of the "thing" move on to the second step and start building strength, flexibility and control.
