Looking back on SpongeBob SquarePants, it's honestly hard to pick a favorite season. I know my favorite lies somewhere within seasons 13 for sure. I always thought that by default it was season 1 because you can't beat the original. However, when I finished my my review of season 1, I couldn't help but think about how flawlessly they transitioned from season 1 through to season 2. It really felt like in a lot of ways, season 2 picked up right where season 1 left off but at the same time, season 2 felt new and fresh all on it's own. Aesthetically, it had made a pretty big shift, but as far as the shows roots go, everything stayed relatively the same, save for the fact that they upped the comedy factor by at least 3x. There's just something about the humor in season 2 of SpongeBob that really hits so much harder than season 1 did comedically. Don't get me wrong, season 1 was hilarious, but as they stepped forward into season 2, they really decided to kick it up a notch. On top of that, there really is just so much that makes it such a special season. That's why today, on our nostalgic walk down memory lane, we're embarking on a journey. It's a journey that feels relatively familiar, yet new all at the same time. It's one that I've been preparing for for months now. Grab a snack, grab a drink, and get comfy because today, we're diving back down to Bikini Bottom to check out Season 2 of SpongeBob SquarePants.
