The Argonauts return victorious with the Golden Fleece, and after customary celebrations, the heroes disperse. Jason confronts King Pelias, who had promised the throne in exchange for the fleece, but the treacherous king refuses to keep his promise. Medea learns of King Pelias' betrayal. Using her magic, she deceives Pelias' daughters, leading them to kill their father, thinking he would be resurrected.
