The Grand Opening of Walt Disney World was a musical television special celebrating and highlighting the opening ceremonies of the Walt Disney World Resort. It aired on NBC on October 29, 1971.
This special was filmed from October 2325, 1971, during Walt Disney World's threeday opening celebrations.
The special opens with Glenn Campbell performing "Today is Mine".
Julie Andrews sings "When You Wish Upon a Star" and "ZipADeeDooDah" with the Kids of the Kingdom and a cast of Disney characters

Julie Andrews sings "It's a Small World" while wandering through Fantasyland with an international group of children.
The show concludes with the grand opening parade with Meredith Wilson leading a 1,096piece marching band through Main Street, U.S.A. and a chorus around Cinderella Castle singing "When You Wish Upon a Star" while balloons are released into the air.
