In a small town lives a teenager named Jack Benson, who has always felt a sense of alienation and emptiness stemming from his lack of knowledge about his biological mother. After discovering an old letter that mentions a cozy diner called "Griddle House," Jack decides to embark on a search for answers. He hopes that this place might hold clues about his mother, who could have been a regular customer all along.

Jack starts visiting the Griddle House, examining photographs and chatting with the baristas and patrons. His investigations lead to a series of unexpected revelations: he meets former friends of his mother, who share memories of her love for breakfast and her habits. Each conversation brings Jack closer to the truth while also uncovering the dark secrets of his family's past.

During one of his visits, Jack accidentally finds a hidden note in an old recipe book that leads him to uncover a secret that changes everything: his mother didn't just visit the Griddle House, but left a part of herself there, hoping that one day Jack would find her. With this realization, Jack not only uncovers his origins but also discovers a new place in the world that connects the past with the future.
