The new look at the Superman suit for James Gunn's upcoming rebooted DCU has sparked some controversy amongst the fandom. Many take issue with the use of trunks and how much it leans on its DC Comics roots, while many others take pride in the vibrancy of the suit and logo. Some of the backlash also might stem from Henry Cavill's departure and the desire to revive the DCEU Snyderverse. The new universe is set to kick off with the introduction of new characters like Mr. Terrific, Hawkgirl, Supergirl, and Guy Gardner Green Lantern. The suits of some of the other heroes indicate teases at Maxwell Lord and inspiration from Justice League International, which included the likes of Blue Beetle, Batman, Martian Manhunter, and many others. The comic accuracy of Superman's suit raises the question of how future suits will look for other DC heroes like Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Aquaman.
