Walt Disney was as American as could be, and of course we also know his affinity for fireworks. So, naturally, every 4th of July, Disney Parks go all out. Special finales for Independence Day have been a thing for decades; it was only in 2008 when Disney handcrafted a special 4th of July show for Magic Kingdom, and later in Disneyland.

Meanwhile, in EPCOT, it was the mid aughts (Illuminations: RoE era) when the next evolution of its 4th of July tag “The Heartbeat of Freedom” premiered. Despite going through 3 changes in shows in 4 years, the tag remains, and has been updated to work with the show equipment for Luminous.

You’ll see the whole tag, led off by the finale of Luminous. Bear in mind that near the grand finale, fireworks launch from the American Adventure; however, due to unseasonably humid conditions, in addition to earlier rain showers, a cloud of pyrotechnic fallout remains over the lagoon for that last bit. On the plus side, additional fireworks have been added since opening night of Luminous.
