1) Some Classical Greek leagues were not shown, namely Thessaly, West Locris, East Locris. and also some Hellenistic Greek leagues (Euboea, Crete)
2) The Habsburg military frontier areas were not shown, to prevent that part of the map becoming excessively complex. Instead, each frontier was shown as part of the corresponding crownland.
3) The areas shown as under the control of the Goryani in Bulgaria (1940s1950s) were actually areas of operation. Too little is known about them to show their area of control due to the Bulgarian regime's suppression of information about them.



*Mediaeval Albania is simplified; the League of Lezhë comprised several lordships that at times opposed each other or allied to other states, such as Venice.
**The legal status of Kosovo and North Kosovo is disputed, the video shows the de facto situation
