All local shops will accept Euros.
If you want to use Israeli Shekels(ILS)
Check the forex currency exchange rate at first.

The language spoken at the Holy Shrines which belong to the Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem is Greek.
To communicate with the locals you can use English
or Arabic.Some of them may also speak Greek.
